I received my PhD in “Molecular Medicine” in June, 2006 from
Hannover Medical School, Germany.
My doctoral work focused on the different genes involved in the Marfan syndrome,
which is a genetic disease that includes aortic aneurysm as part of the
condition along with other cardiovascular, skeletal and ocular system
manifestations. My interest lies in understanding the basic mechanism behind the
cardiomyopathies in response to different chemotherapeutic drugs, which are
being used to treat various types (breast, ovarian cancer) of cancer. Another
goal is to find the mechanism and associated effector molecules, modulation of
which can prevent/revert the drug induced cardiomyopathies.
